How Korea Happened

Last week my mom got an email from someone she works with that had a flyer about this internship. It is through UCCS and is six weeks long. UCCS has made a partnership with Yeungjin College in South Korea and they have made a "village" called Daegu Gyongbuk English Village. This is a live-in, immersion style village where students of all ages come to learn English.

Basically the interns go and stay in the village and teach English. The flight is paid for, as well as housing, and 3 meals a day in the cafeteria! But, it is unpaid. Nonetheless, I emailed the guy saying I was interested in applying for the position. He emailed me back asking if I could go in for an interview in the next two days. So I went in and interviewed; he asked me a couple of questions, he showed me a bunch of pictures, told me he would forward my information to the people in Korea and would get back with me soon. Then it was a 3 day weekend. On Tuesday, I opened my email to a letter from this guy sending me a contract...which means I was accepted! So within four days, I went from working all summer to going to Korea! I will be leaving on July 9th and will be returning to the country August 20th, so that leaves me just barely enough time to apply for my visa to Spain! I figure I will be arriving in Spain late, but what can you do?
